My Studio....
The
front of my studio which has been built with colour bond wheat coloured
horizontal corrugated iron with heritage green bull-nosed veranda, 100yr old
cast iron veranda posts and lovely paving achieved & designed by my dear
husband! (He actually built the whole structure himself!) The old car
& seat with quilts are there for a recent photo shoot for Australian
Patchwork & Stitching magazine released in June 2004.
Close-up
of the props used in the photo shoot.
Inside
the main room measures 20 x 30ft. On the southern side we have used two 1ft x
10ft long windows up high to allow plenty of light to come in but not to create
too much damage. It also gives me much needed wall space for cupboards &
hanging all those lovelies on!
This is a set shot by the photographer to attempt to take a good photo of my
prize winning wholecloth quilted titled "Lace #1" We used all our own
props, so you can see I also collect Blue & White Cornishware...
Looking
East or out of the front windows, you can see the old paned shop windows that we
recycled for the front of the studio. There is a sink in the corner (yet to be
plumbed...) my bookcase of all my magazines and books, but I already need
another one!!! I have a sewing table shaped like U that has electric hydraulics
to enable me to raise it to the perfect cutting height when doing lots of
cutting & then lower it back down to sew on. It was a computer desk in its
former life.....
